गीतांजलि अंतरराष्ट्रीय उत्सव
गतवर्ष लॅाकडाउन के समय प्रति सप्ताह हमने ‘गीतांजलि एकल काव्यपाठ संगोष्ठी’ की प्रस्तुति की थी जो बहुत ही सफल एवं प्रशंसित भी रही। सबको नूतन वर्ष की शुभकामनाओं के साथ अब हम इस उत्सव को लेकर आ रहे हैं वर्ष 2021 के आगाज के साथ-साथ। इसके अंतर्गत विश्व के ऐसे जाने-माने साहित्यकारों, भारतीय संस्कृति एवं सामाजिक सरोकारों से जुड़े गणमान्य प्रणेताओं के व्यक्तित्व एवं कृतित्व पर गम्भीर चर्चा करने जा रहे हैं जिनसे लाभ उठा कर कुछ प्रतिभागी और अधिक जिजीविशा के साथ आगे बढ़ने की संकल्प्यक्ति जनित ऊर्जा को जन्म देने में सफल हो सकते हैं। इन मनीषियों के साथ चर्चा करने वाले संवादी भी ऐसे होंगे जो उनके जीवन से परिचित ही नहीं वरन् यथायोग्य सफल रचनाकार भी होंगे। हम यह आशा करते हैं कि विश्व समाज में इस श्रृंखला का यथोचित स्वागत होगा। ज़ूम पटल पर होने वाले इस कार्यक्रम से जुड़ने के लिए जो आई डी एवं पासकोड आदि की आवश्यकता होती है वह तीन माह के लिए वही रखने की योजना है जिससे सबको सुविधा रहे।
Bhojpuri Literary and Cultural Evening
To celebrate the diversity of India and to give a better recognition to nearly 150 million Bhojpuri worldwide; nearly 25,000 Bhojpuri in the UK, Gitanjali Multilingual Literary Circle UK (GMLC) in association with ‘Mata Da Mandir’ and ‘Bihari Connect’ group of the UK is putting up this showcase to integrate all Indians. This historic event, being organised for the first time in the UK, will have mainly the following three strands:

Poetry recital in Bhojpuri by well-known talents from India including UK poets.

A rare treat of Bhojpuri cuisine to delegates.

An array of cultural performances by the world famous Bhojpuri artists.
GITANJALI REMEMBRANCE DAY CELEBRATION
Gitanjali Multilingual Literary Circle (GMLC) was founded on 29th April 1995. During the last twentytwo years a number of members joined and enriched GMLC and also benefited from its uniqueapproach. Sadly some members left for their heavenly abode creating a sense of genuine loss inGitanjali family. Some new members even don’t know about them and how they helped in thegrowth of GMLC. To remember them and to pay homage to them; we have conceived thisprogramme. To date we have lost 4 active members namely Mrs Priyamwada Devi Misra (whoexpired on 20 th March 2010), Mr R.K.Mahan, Mrs Neena Paul (who expired on 15 th August 2016) andDr. Nand Krishna Srivastava MBE (who expired on 2 nd November 2017). We have decided tocelebrate these days in cyclic manner i.e. the inaugural programme on 20 th March 2018 will befocussed on Mrs Misra while remembering other three souls. In addition to paying our tributes tothe departed souls in a variety of ways; we will also have a multilingual poetry programme in whichwe will try to introduce new poets. Next year in 2019 the programme will be devoted to Mr Mahanon the day he had expired while remembering the remaining three and so on. Assuming during 4year cycle GMLC does not lose any other member; the cycle will restart with Mrs Misra.

The Gitanjali Circle of Young Creative Writers (GCYCW) has been going strong for the past six years and at this function Consul General Dr Aman Puri was our Chief guest.

विश्व हिंदी दिवस 10 जनवरी
विश्व हिन्दी दिवस का उद्देश्य विश्व में हिन्दी के प्रचार-प्रसार के लिए वातावरण निर्मित करना, हिन्दी के प्रति अनुराग पैदा करना, हिन्दी की दशा के लिए जागरूकता पैदा करना तथा हिन्दी को विश्व भाषा के रूप में प्रस्तुत करना है।
विश्व हिंदी दिवस के उपलक्ष्य में भारत के प्रधान कौन्सुलावास बर्मिंघम यू.के. ने 14 जनवरी को हिंदी काव्य पाठ का आयोजन किया जिसमें गीतांजलि का सहयोग और गीतांजलि के सदस्यों की अहम भागीदारी रही।
Farewell Parry to Mr JK Sharma,
Consultate General Birmingham
The farewell fuction of Mr JK Sharma, Consulate General, Birmingham was held in Horseshoe restaurant, Hallgreen, Birmingham on 20th January 2017.
During his 2 years of tenure Mr Sharma has helped GMLC in many great ways on several occasions including arranging many of our annual and 20th anniversary functions.
